John Prouty retires after 42 years

I am pleased to announce my decision to retire as Principal of Heritage School, effective June 30, 2010.

This will mark the culmination of 42 years of service as an educator in the Town of Charlton.  During my time with the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District, I have had the good fortune to have been able to serve with several outstanding Superintendents throughout my professional career.  Mr. John F. Canavan, Mr. Richard A. Carmignani, Mr. Albert L. Thibaudeau and Mr. Sean M. Gilrein were each sources of inspiration; - providing leadership, mentorship and a constancy of vision and direction for the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District and our community.

I have also been fortunate to have served over the years with an outstanding team of administrators within the District.  Their mutual collaboration, support and collegiality have been gr eatly appreciated. The character and strength of this team are underlying hallmarks of this District.

At Heritage School, I have been blessed with an incomparable team of educators and support staff.  I could not begin to say enough about the dedication, cooperation and concern for children that is exemplified by each and every member of the Heritage School team.  The esteem with which Heritage School is viewed by our community is in no small part due to the untiring effort of all of our staff each and every day throughout the school year.

As I reflect on my years in service to the families of Charlton, the memories of colleagues, families and individual students will remain with me for a long time.

Sincerely,

John M. Prouty
