Governor reconsiders transportation cuts

Over the holiday break, Senator Stephen M. Brewer’s office confirmed that Governor Deval L. Patrick has reversed the 9c cuts of $18 million to regional transportation reimbursement. The amount in the account will be $40 million – a 56% reimbursement rate. This is great news for our school district and all the regions.

With the announced restoration of state funding for regional school transportation, regional and vocational schools across the Commonwealth can concentrate our efforts on continuing to provide quality education for our students.

We owe a great deal of thanks to our legislators and to those who corresponded with the Governor on our behalf. We encourage you to join us in sending thanks to our state representatives and senators.
